Garuda crash victim to be flown to Singapore for treatment

AN AUSTRALIAN man who was injured in the Garuda Indonesia plane crash in central Java will be flown into Singapore for treatment at midnight on Wednesday.

International SOS, a provider of medical and security assistance has arranged for the 51-year-old to be flown in on a lear jet 35 air ambulance.

An intensive care unit doctor and nurse will be accompanying him.

It is understood that he will be ferried to the Singapore General Hospital for treatments.

Details of his condition is still unclear but it is understood that he will require treatment for burns at the hospital's burns unit.

It is understood that four of nine Australians on the plane are missing.
